A second chance, made possible by you
Every year, hundreds of sea turtles are found stranded in the waters of the Maldives – entangled in ghost nets and marine debris, with flipper injuries and diseases. Many are in severe pain, unable to swim, feed, or survive without urgent help.
For these animals, rescue is just the beginning.
What follows is often a long, resource-intensive journey. They are quickly transported to our clinical facilities, where emergency treatment, complex surgeries, infection management, and months of dedicated care follow. Our veterinary team works tirelessly to give each turtle patient a real chance at recovery and, ultimately, a return to the ocean.
But right now, more sea turtles need help than we have the capacity to treat.
Funds raised through the Big Give Earth Raise campaign will help us continue treating our turtle patients. They will make sure we don’t have to turn any sea turtles away when they are found sick, injured and in need of our help. And they will also help us train more sea turtle veterinary surgeons to build a network of specialist professionals available in the areas most frequented by sea turtles – so we can do everything possible to save these beautiful creatures.
