Sarah Ibrahim, Project Assistant, Maldives

Sarah Ibrahim grew up in the Maldives up until middle school, then attended high school in Sri Lanka and finally University in England.

Her passion for the ocean has been a constant in her life, influenced by her family members who are all diving, surfing, and ocean enthusiasts. Sarah is a PADI Divemaster herself and has been diving since 2010.

Sarah acquired her bachelor’s degrees with honours in Sociology, from the University of Greenwich and wishes to pursue a masters in conservation. She has previously interned with ORP at our partner resort Six Senses Laamu, in collaboration with Maldives Underwater Initiative (MUI). Sarah is therefore familiar with sea turtle biology, and has extensive fieldwork experience with sea turtle nest monitoring, excavations and recording sea turtle Photo-ID.

Sarah has joined ORP in the role of Project Assistant for the Maldives. She assists with operational and administrative duties, conducts community outreach and liaises with other organisations to encourage local and national involvement in sea turtle conservation.
