Clinical Veterinary Fellow
Pau Benet was born and raised in Barcelona, a city next to the Mediterranean sea and the Pyrenees. Surrounded by nature, he developed a deep interest in wildlife and the ocean.
Driven by this early interest in animals, Pau earned a degree in Veterinary Medicine at the Autonomous University of Barcelona, completing his final project in wildlife conservation. After graduating, he undertook two internships at small animal referral hospitals in Spain and the United Kingdom, gaining valuable methodic and practical experience.
After spending a few years in small animal practice, Pau decided to embark on a new journey and pursue a career in wildlife conservation and medicine.
This path brought him to the Olive Ridley Project, where he joined the team in October 2025 as our very first Clinical Veterinary Fellow. In this role, Pau is receiving training in sea turtle conservation medicine and clinical techniques, while also helping advance our clinical research efforts.
In his spare time, Pau likes to remain connected with the ocean – by swimming, snorkelling and currently improving his surfing skills.
