Hasnaulhusna, who also goes by Naul, has had a deep love for animals since childhood.
Growing up in Tangerang Selatan, Indonesia, she was captivated by nature documentaries, particularly National Geographic Wild, which sparked her interest in wildlife. This early fascination with wildlife led her down a path dedicated to wildlife conservation.
Naul decided to pursue a career in veterinary medicine, combining her love for animals with a desire to make meaningful difference. While studying veterinary sciences at IPB University (Bogor Agricultural University), Bogor, she joined a university community focused on wildlife conservation, further expanding her knowledge and commitment to protecting endangered species. This experience deepened her understanding of the complexities of wildlife care and conservation efforts, solidifying her desire to dedicate her career to this field.
After graduating, Naul worked with the Jakarta Animal Aid Network (JAAN), a non-governmental organisation in Indonesia. She worked at one of their sites in Bali, called Umah Lumba, where she primarily focused on aquatic animals, including sea turtles and dolphins. She also took care of some terrestrial animals such as monkeys, wild birds and even pangolins. Her role allowed her to apply her veterinary skills while contributing to crucial efforts in preserving wildlife. Working with these majestic creatures reaffirmed her belief in the importance of conservation.
Outside of her professional life, Naul has a deep connection to the ocean, which has become her sanctuary. In her free time, she loves spending time by the sea, where she finds peace and inspiration. Her love for the ocean has fuelled her interest in freediving, and she dreams of mastering this skill.
Naul joined ORP in October 2024 as a Veterinary Surgeon at the Marine Turtle Rescue Centre in Coco Palm Dhuni Kolhu, Baa Atoll.
