Gordon Fergus works in the environmental sector, specialising in waste and resource management. His professional focus is on sustainability and finding practical solutions to environmental challenges, particularly around waste and recycling. Gordon lives and works in the UK and is also a keen diver with a deep personal passion for marine conservation.
He is particularly committed to reducing plastic waste in our seas, where it poses a serious threat to marine life. Alongside ORP’s vital work in sea turtle rescue and conservation medicine, Gordon is especially drawn to our efforts in tackling marine pollution, such as projects to recover and recycle ghost nets, which are a major hazard to ocean wildlife.
Gordon has volunteered at sea turtle conservation projects in Sumatra, Indonesia, where he saw first-hand both the vulnerability of these magnificent animals and the tireless dedication of local conservation teams. These experiences have only strengthened his commitment to protecting the ocean and its wildlife.
