Turtle ID: GR329
Huraveela is a common sight at the overhangs between Kuredu Caves and the rest of the out-reef. Sometimes it seems like she is everywhere. During one dive it often happens that you see her sleeping in an overhang, then she passes by you one way, and couple of minutes later she swims back again. The divers think they might have seen three different turtles. But our biologist, who recognizes the scale patterns on the turtles face, knows it’s just Huraveela again. Either Huraveela really likes her picture taken or she is a restless turtle with lots of errands to run! Quite special is that on the right side of her face, Huraveela has just 3 scales behind the eye. Most green sea turtles have 4 scales in that place. Maybe next time you might be able to spot her yourself.
