Born and raised in New Delhi, India, Vanshika always sought refuge from the city life in nature – forests, mountains, or the sea. Early visits to India’s national parks and interactions with naturalists nurtured a fascination for wildlife. Vanshika’s parents fondly called her a “water baby,” recognising her deep connection with the natural world from a young age.

After school, she pursued an education in graphic design, a discipline that has enabled her to explore mixed mediums as forms of communication.

Her curiosity for the natural world evolved into practice when she went on her first dive in 2018 and discovered the vibrant beauty of coral reefs. Observing marine life up close sparked both wonder and responsibility, leading her to adopt a vegetarian lifestyle and actively seek opportunities to deepen her understanding. She has since taken part in a Naturalist Training Workshop and other environment-oriented programmes.

Her four-week volunteer experience with the Olive Ridley Project in early 2025 marked a turning point in her journey. This hands-on experience in sea turtle rehabilitation, husbandry and conservation, strengthened her commitment to raise awareness about marine ecosystems and the impact of human choices.

Today, as Creative Head & Director of a Boutique Hotel in New Delhi that is nestled in nature, she brings sustainability into hospitality through seasonal menus, eco-friendly toiletries, elimination of single-use plastics, and upcycling initiatives. She also envisions creating guest experiences with repurposed ghost gear and collaborating with NGOs to advocate for responsible seafood consumption within the industry.

Building on her volunteer experience, Vanshika joined ORP’s team in September 2025 as a Sea Turtle Ambassador. In this role, she supports the organisation’s education and outreach efforts by utilising her strengths in design and communication to engage and inspire diverse audiences.

Her journey from city living to conservation reflects a core belief: even small, mindful choices can create meaningful change for the natural world.
