Adopt a turtle
Adopting a sea turtle is a great way to help protect sea turtles.
Name and adopt one of our identified wild sea turtles or adopt one of our current turtle patients to support their recovery. You can adopt a turtle in your own name or as a meaningful gift to someone who cares about protecting marine creatures and ecosystems.
Choose between:
- Naming and adopting a specific identified sea turtle living in the wild
- Adopting a turtle patient currently being cared for at one of our rescue centres
Why your sea turtle adoption is so important:
By symbolically adopting a sea turtle, you will help Olive Ridley Project to rescue and treat more sick and injured sea turtles, and release them back into the wild. Your sea turtle adoption will also help fund our clinical & scientific research, as well as our educational outreach work, to prevent sea turtles from harm and better understand how to protect them and their habitats.

Your digital adoption package includes:
- A personalised digital adoption certificate
- A fact-sheet about the sea turtles
- Email updates on your adopted sea turtle*
- Your adoption featured on our website
- A gift card for your gift recipient
*Please note that we cannot guarantee sightings of wild sea turtles
What you support when you adopt a turtle
Six of seven species of sea turtles are threatened with extinction. When you symbolically adopt a sea turtle, you’re playing an active role in protecting sea turtles and their habitats.
Your support funds our rescue and conservation medicine work, advances in clinical and scientific research, and makes possible educational outreach to raise awareness.
If you choose to adopt a turtle patient, you’ll contribute directly to its care and recovery, and help ensure we never have to turn away a sick or injured turtle.
