Turtle ID: GR462
If you have visited Kuredu Caves it is very likely you have met this iconic turtle. Holiday is one of the resident turtles who can be seen all year around sitting inside the overhangs or swimming past curious divers and snorkelers. Guests always wonder how our biologist can tell the turtles apart just by looking at them. Well Holiday makes the job easy. Everyone can identify her, without even looking at the scale pattern of the face. She has a small growth on the right side of her neck. It was first thought to be a tumour but an assessment on basis of pictures by our turtle veterinarian confirmed it to rather be left over skin from an old wound. For sure Holiday seems to be fine since she is also one of our most sighted turtles around Kuredu. So next time you visit Kuredu you might recognize her.
