Meet Bubble, Found Floating With Multiple Injuries
Bubble is a young (subadult) Olive Ridley turtle who was sent to us from the care of Naifaru Juvenile Centre in Lhaviyani Atoll.
Intake Date: 19th March 2018
Length: 56.5 cm
Weight: 16 kg
Status: Current Patient
Bubble was found floating in the ocean with several injuries: She had two finger bone fractures to her right front flipper and a wound on her nose. In addition, she also had a prolapsed cloaca and was very buoyant, possibly due to a bowel problem.
Bubble’s prolapsed cloaca retracted 3 days after her arrival. She remains very buoyant, but is active in her tank. She has started eating smaller amounts of food, but still spits it out sometimes. Her stools have improved and seem quite normal, tough she is still getting antibiotics and stomach medicine.
